Set up Match Criteria so Matched works

Match Criteria powers Matched ranking and estimated revenue.

Matched ranks plans from your Match Criteria — size, geography, industry, and Must/Nice preferences. Thin criteria mean a thin or empty Matched list. Current-client uploads are saved for later affinity work and do not move Matched scores today.

  1. Go to Match Criteria (⌘K / Ctrl+K → Match Criteria, or follow the empty-Matched prompt).
  2. Optionally add current clients or describe your book in plain English — we suggest Match Criteria chips (including features and recordkeepers) for you to apply.
  3. Edit Match Criteria: plan size, states, industries, plan features, recordkeepers, and advisor preferences.
  4. Mark preferences Must when they should hard-filter Matched, or Nice when they should only boost rank.
  5. Confirm your fee schedule on Profile or Settings so estimated revenue columns are meaningful.
  6. Return to Matched — rankings refresh from those Match Criteria inputs.
  • Suggestions from your description always apply as Nice so they can never silently shrink Matched — promote any of them to Must yourself.
  • Must-have plan features (for example SDBA) and Must recordkeepers only show matching plans on Matched.
  • Nice recordkeepers (Guideline, Betterment, Paychex, etc.) strongly boost rank so those platforms float near the top of Matched without hiding everything else. Switch them to Must if you only want those platforms.
  • Many Form 5500 filings hide the recordkeeper — Nice cannot invent disclosure. If preferred RKs still feel scarce, use Must or filter All Plans by recordkeeper.
  • Require none under Advisor hides advised plans; Prefer none ranks unadvised plans higher without hiding the rest.
  • Exclude / Displace advisor names keep specific firms out of Matched or boost plans you want to take from them.
  • If Matched looks empty or generic, Match Criteria is usually the first place to fix — loosen Must prefs before widening geography.
  • Each advisor on a team has their own Match Criteria — they are not shared firm-wide.
